Sea-Intelligence

Sea-Intelligence is a Copenhagen research house selling data and analysis on the container liner market. Its best known product is the Global Liner Performance report, a monthly study of schedule reliability and vessel delays across more than 300 liner loops, 60-plus carriers and 34 trade lanes, built on 12,000-plus vessel arrivals a month and delivered as a PDF with a companion Excel data file. A weekly analytical report on freight rates, capacity and deployment, and a forward capacity deployment report built on named vessel schedules, sit alongside it.

It was co-founded in 2011 by Alan Murphy and Lars Jensen, who had run the intelligence function at Maersk Line, and it sells to shipowners, charterers, ports, banks and investors rather than to crews running a fleet. The relevance to a shipping software buyer is the independent baseline: schedule reliability figures here are the yardstick a port call or reliability claim gets measured against, and the data arrives as a subscription report rather than an API to integrate.

Subscriptions are priced per year and per issue, with the schedule reliability report starting at €2,000 a year for twelve monthly issues and sharing allowed inside the subscribing company. It is market intelligence — not a voyage management, routing, or emissions system — and Linerlytica covers similar liner deployment ground with a different product shape.
