Coach Solutions

Coach Solutions is a Danish vendor of vessel performance and voyage optimization software, sold to operators, owners, pool managers and technical managers. It is organised in three layers that can be bought on their own: Data collects and validates noon reports and produces emissions reports, Performance monitors daily fuel consumption, distance and sailed speed against a digital twin of the vessel, and Routing delivers weather-optimized routes with voyage advisor support around the clock. The argument for the product is that the models are built from the vessel's own validated data, so recommendations follow what the ship really burns rather than a class average.

It also flags hull fouling before it costs a slow steaming cycle, monitors charter party speed compliance, and runs free FuelEU Maritime and EU ETS cost estimators as lead tools ahead of a demonstration. Kongsberg, which acquired the company, markets the same software as the Valid collection — Valid Data, Valid Voyage and Valid Performance — alongside its own Vessel Insight and K-Fleet products.

The origins matter when comparing it with routing vendors: the software was originally developed inside Danish shipping group Clipper Group, became Coach Solutions ApS as an independent company in 2016, and is now a Kongsberg Digital company headquartered in Copenhagen, shipping data through integrations such as DNV's Veracity.
